Jesus’ resurrection was the culmination of God’s plan to reconcile humankind back to Him. The whole history of the world has been about that grand plan – about God bringing those who are estranged back into relationship. And His plan all came down to these central events: Jesus died according to the Scriptures and Jesus rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. That’s the essence of the story of God.
