Posted Jun 29, 2019
We are pleased to welcome Rev. Ryan Bunbury, his wife Linaya and children, Bryce (17), Gavin (10) and Lilly (5) as the new lead pastor at Calvary Christian Assembly. Pastor Ryan’s first Sunday is slated for August 11, 2019. Interested in knowing a little more about the Bunburys? Here is a quick bio.
Ryan has a passion for creatively reaching people with the hope of Jesus. Born into a lineage of ministers, he gave his heart to Jesus, was baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit in his formative years. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and has been in vocational ministry close to 20 years. He will soon complete his Master of Arts in Church Ministries with a concentration in Discipleship and Ministry Leadership.
Passionate worship music, encouraging Bible teaching and generous community outreach serve as his ministerial hallmark. Ryan’s desire is to encourage health, unleash hope, and inspire faith in all. He has thrived in launching, developing and leading discipleship and Christian formation in churches ranging from 400 to 4000. His missional accomplishments have encouraged high participation, stimulated growth and increased multi-cultural, intergenerational community numbers.
Pastor, artist and communicator, Linaya Edralin Bunbury has a passion for people and creatively sharing the gospel. Linaya has served the church in the area of communications, social media management, singles ministry and worship arts. In May 2019, she received her ministerial license from the Assemblies of God. Linaya has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and English from California State University, Sacramento, and a Ministry Leadership certificate from Northwest University.
Creativity is a common thread that has been weaved throughout Linaya’s journey. Her background includes fashion styling, visual merchandising, stage design, set-painting and decor. In 2016, Linaya launched Belief & Eden, an online shop that sells artwork and contributes half of the proceeds to anti-trafficking organizations. What first started as commissions for wall art quickly evolved into selling hand painted Bibles and journals. As a result, thousands of dollars have been donated to anti-trafficking organizations to free women and kids who have been sold into forced labor and sexual slavery
Ryan and Linaya have been married for 18 years.
